Terms of Service

1. Parent and child accounts

A HoTuto account is created and controlled by a parent or legal guardian ("Parent", "you"). Child profiles are created and managed by the Parent within the App — a child does not independently register an account, agree to these Terms, or provide their own contact details to us. The Parent is responsible for all activity that takes place through their account and any child profiles under it, including content uploaded and features used.

2. What the Service does

A Parent can upload photos of a child's school textbook chapters, worksheets, or past papers. HoTuto extracts the text from that content and uses it to automatically generate study guides, flashcards, and practice questions, and provides an AI exercise solver that explains and checks answers to submitted questions. HoTuto also offers age-appropriate Math and English skill-building practice independent of any specific school curriculum, and an "Explore" library of general-knowledge topics for learning outside of schoolwork.

AI-generated material is produced automatically and, as explained in Section 5, is not guaranteed to be complete or error-free.

3. Content you upload

You're responsible for the content you upload — textbook pages, worksheets, past papers, and exercise photos — and for confirming you have the right to use and upload it for your child's personal study within the App. Don't upload content that is unlawful, infringes someone else's rights, or contains personal information about anyone other than your own child.

We process uploaded content as necessary to provide the Service, including text extraction and generating the study material described in Section 2. Some content — such as worksheets and past papers submitted for a school subject — is reviewed before being approved, and once approved becomes visible to other parents browsing that subject's shared resources (not just your own child). We'll indicate in the App where this applies before you submit that type of content.

4. License to your content

You retain ownership of the content you upload. You grant HoTuto a limited license to store, process, and use that content solely to provide the Service — including generating the study guides, flashcards, questions, and answer explanations you request, and to operate, maintain, and secure the Service. HoTuto does not claim ownership of your uploaded content.

5. AI-generated content

Study guides, flashcards, practice questions, and answer explanations are generated automatically using AI, based on the content you upload. AI-generated material may occasionally contain errors, omissions, or incorrect explanations. Parents and students should verify important information against the actual school textbook, teacher guidance, and curriculum requirements.

HoTuto is intended as a study aid and does not replace teachers, schools, textbooks, or professional educational advice, and we do not guarantee any particular academic result, grade, exam performance, or learning outcome from using the App.

6. Subscriptions and free trial

New accounts start with a free 1-month trial. After the trial, continued access to full features requires an active paid plan, currently offered as 6-month and 12-month plans, priced in AED as shown in the App. Prices, plan lengths, and included usage limits may change, and current pricing will be shown before you subscribe or upgrade.

Plans do not renew automatically. When a plan's term ends, access reverts to the free plan's limits until it's renewed. To renew or upgrade a plan, contact us at [email protected] or +971 58 597 0435 or +971 55 359 8448 .

7. Cancellation and refunds

Since plans don't auto-renew, there's no recurring charge to cancel — a plan simply ends at the end of its term unless you renew it.

• The 6-month plan is non-refundable.
• The 12-month plan can be downgraded to the 6-month plan if it hasn't been used, with the difference (AED 200) refunded.

8. Fair use of AI features

AI-powered features (study guide generation, the exercise solver, and question generation) are subject to usage limits tied to your plan, to keep the Service reliable and available for everyone. These may include rate limits, quotas, or other usage caps, and may change over time. We'll indicate in the App when a limit has been reached.

9. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose;
• Attempt to circumvent usage limits or security controls;
• Abuse, disrupt, or overload the Service;
• Upload malicious files or content;
• Infringe the intellectual property or other rights of a third party; or
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to another user's account or to our systems.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the Service where reasonably necessary because of a material violation of these Terms, misuse or abuse of the Service, unlawful activity, security concerns, or fraudulent activity. Where reasonably possible we'll provide notice first; we may act immediately without prior notice where necessary for security, legal, or operational reasons.

11. Intellectual property

HoTuto retains all rights in the App and its underlying software, branding, logos, visual design, trademarks, and service technology, and in any proprietary content we provide (such as the Explore library). This is separate from, and does not extend to, the content you upload, which remains yours as described in Section 4.

12. Service availability

We aim to keep HoTuto reliably available, but the Service may occasionally be unavailable due to maintenance, outages, infrastructure issues, or problems with third-party services we depend on. We don't guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability.

13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service, including all AI-generated content, is provided on an "as available" basis without guarantees of accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular educational outcome. To the extent permitted by applicable law, HoTuto is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the Service, reliance on AI-generated content, service interruptions, or third-party services the App depends on. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

14. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what information we collect — including about child profiles you create — and how it's used. It forms part of these Terms. As noted there, a child does not independently provide personal information to us; all child profile data is entered and controlled by the Parent.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
